Have you ever looked at planners decorated with paint and thought how great they looked but been put off trying to decorate your own planner for fear of it looking wrong? Don’t be afraid to experiment and add a bit of colour to your planner. If it doesn’t work the way you wanted it to there’s always a sticker to cover it. There IS no right or wrong when you're being creative and your planner reflects your own style.
Here's a look at how I watercolour my Hobonichi weeks.
I love to colour match my chosen kit to my watercolours to add some colour to my pages. My favourite method is to add the watercolour splatters to my blank pages with my paint brush. You can get different effects depending on how much water you add and the best way is to play around with your paints to see which effect you personally prefer .
I have chosen three colours from my palette, two shades of the green and a pink to match the colours in the collection I have chosen to use for this week - the beautiful 'Little but Fierce'.
I like to have a little water mixed with the paint and just splat away until I’m happy. I then decided I needed a slightly darker pink so I just added a little red to the pink I had already used. If you have a paper towel ready you can always dab to remove the paint if you feel you have used too much.
Once I've played around with the the splatter pattern and I'm happy with the effect I allow everything to dry off. Once the paint has dried I begin to add my stickers to the page using the 'Little but Fierce' mini weeks sheet. I have also used some extra deco across the pages and I love how they pop with the paint splatter. The blue dragon from the deco sheet is too cute so I had to add him as well.
Don't the colours just make you feel bright and happy! Getting creative with your pages can be a great way to relax and I know that I can just enter into my own little world where quite often time just disappears and suddenly it’s the next day. It's a great way to relax.
