Hygge - Autumn Coziness

By Creative Planning Team Lead - Sharon Gubby

What is a hygge I hear you ask?

The Danish concept of hygge, or hyggelig (adj.), refers to finding comfort, pleasure, and warmth in simple, soothing things such as a cozy atmosphere or the feeling of friendship. The Scandinavian term encompasses a feeling of coziness, contentment, and well-being found through cherishing the little things.

It's Saturday afternoon and time to sort out my planner for next week - tucked into my little spot for planning and 'me time' that sentiment really rings true. I have my Hygge #stickerateMONTHLY kit to decorate this week, I'm feeling relaxed and the 'little things' are beautiful stickers to give my planner that cozy feel for next week.

The classic mini kit gives me so much flexibility - it has deco, washi, weekly headers, plenty of boxes in differing sizes and lots of small extras to use. It really is a wonderful mixture.

I've moved into an Erin Condren Hourly this year, after having been in a vertical planner for years. I love that the hourly format gives me the ability to add appointments and also time block tasks and projects. It gives me a great overview of my week and where I have free space.

The half boxes are great for appointments and adding an appointment label to block out the travel time before and after helps me prevent over stretching my time.

I found a little trick for making my weekend banner stand out. I use a piece of washi strip plus I've been using the little separater strip between the two washi strips for a little extra texture.

For longer events where there is something happening but I still need to be able to add other time blocks in I use a sticker and a 'washi arrow' to mark the time.

The colours in this kit are beautiful. The rich colours of Autumn and the beautiful wings of butterflies and it's going to add a little 'coziness' to the whole of my week.
