All I want for 'Planner' Christmas
By The Creative Planning Team
At this time of year the Creative Planning Team's thoughts turn to all things Christmassy. The variety of new planners and planning supplies available are constantly changing and it's exciting to see what's out there and how they complement the range of collections and functional stickers from EllieBeth Designs UK.
The Creative Planning Team have been exploring all the goodies available and give us an insight into what's on their 'Planner' Christmas wish lists.
The past few years I have had a long list of things that I would like for planner Christmas, but this year, there really isn’t much. I've been lucky this year in that I have been able to try out some new and different planners and I have discovered things I really like. So the only thing I can really think of for Planner Christmas is stickers! Because let's be honest, can you ever have too many stickers?
I started to think about my 2021 planner line up in October this year as that’s when a lot of companies release sneaky peeks of their upcoming goodies. Instead of wanting “all the planners”, I’ve now learned that it’s best if I decide first what I want to record, list or document and then choose which planner(s) will fit my needs.
First on my planner Christmas list is an Archer & Olive bullet journal. I’ve decided that I’m going to use this for daily memory-keeping with stickers, coloured pens and a few notes about what I did each day. There are cheaper bullet journals on the market but I’ve decided to treat myself as A&O has such excellent reviews and the covers are gorgeous.
Next on my list is a “winter” cover for my A6 Hobonichi. I have a lovely cover already but it’s definitely more of a summer design. I never thought I’d be someone to have different covers for one planner but I’ve definitely been enticed down the rabbit hole! I’m currently keeping my eyes out on Facebook selling and destash sites to see if I can pick up a bargain.
Finally, I’d like a really good selection of stickers including decorative and functional ones. My current favourite functional stickers are the full box ombre checklists, rainbow appointment labels in different sizes, rainbow date covers and all of the stickers designed for the Erin Condren Daily Duo planner which I’ll be using for work next year.
And in order to ensure that I get my Christmas planner wishes granted, I’ve discovered that it’s easiest to order everything myself and tell my husband afterwards what he’s bought for me!
As we approach the end of the year, it’s natural to look back and assess what life’s been like over the last 12 months. Needless to say, it’s not anything like I’d imagined it would be! We’ve all had to make adjustments and sacrifices in 2020, but the thing I have missed most of all is spending time with people outside my immediate household, so for ‘planner’ Christmas I would like to be able to put lots of get-togethers with family and friends in my schedule. I appreciate that it may still be some time before we can do that, but that’s okay if it means we can all get-together eventually. xxx
I'm fairly settled in my planning style but I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Scribbles That Matter Productive weeks and Bujo Canvas. The productive weeks is a lay flat desk calendar that will sit on my desk and I'm really looking forward to trying out my EBDUK collection in it and the bujo canvas is a hybrid dotted bullet journal and watercolour book. I have plain, ordinary watercolour books but wanted something nicer as my main creative painting book. It's really exciting to have new planners coming in Happy Mail and especially when it's something that I've not tried before.
Hmm now apart from a mountain of stickers.. you can never have enough stickers right?
As I have all my planners sorted for next year I am not in need of an actual planner. However there have been a few items that I have been looking at that are planner related for which I am hoping that Santa remembers that I have been very good this year and brings me.
I would love the Erin Condren large tote bag as I am a lover of big bags even though my son is 8 now I can’t stop carrying the world around with me and to be honest a bag big enough to carry your planner is a win for anyone.
Erin Condren also released the Acrylic Perpetual Calendars which I fell in love with as its something so simple that can sit on my desk where I do my planning.
The last item which is a big one is a mini printer so I can then use these as part of my memory keeping that I am going to focus on next year.
I hope you have a Christmas filled with love, fun and laughter.
Merry Christmas from my family to yours xx
That’s a hard question as I have no self-control and buy things as soon as I see them, I just can’t help myself.
Amazon seems to read my mind and recommends what I’ve just seen online or in a video etc, if only they would send me the lottery numbers haha.
But back to the question, I suppose I could really do with pocket pages to fill my new sticker folder and organise my stickers better. I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Hope you all have a lovely time
